OWL: Owl Wonderful Learners

As you are aware we are working through the beginning of the Cool Schools programme. In Room 7 we all want to be wise owls. That means we want to be great buddies, role models and contribute in a positive manner in all aspects of our school life. Owls listen with respect and work together. We recognise differences and everyones right to learn and feel valued.

Each we Room 7 will recognise one or two wonderful owls in training. In week four it was Regan and Ngawai. They have both showed that they are willing to step up and lead by example.

Regan - an OWL in training,

Ngawai - an OWL in training.
Well done Regan and Ngawai. You are starting to make the step from Year 5 to Year 6 with Excellence, Pride and Spirit.

Our New Front Gate.

It is so great to finally be able to see our front gate. Hopefully it inspires our students to come to school with pride and walk through our gates with their heads held up high. As soon as students walk through the entrance they know we all want to see Excellence, Pride and Spirit! It is time to walk the talk!!

Thank you to all the parents who have helped over the years to help Ebbett Park School get a entrance that truely represents our kids. A special thank you to our Family and Friends group who have spent a lot of time making this a focus.

Spelling Words Week 2

Students will receive homework every week; unless I inform you otherwise. To start the year I want to set up my expectations and work habits. Your child will need to spend at least 20 minutes on their homework Monday to Thursday. They need to be tested on their spelling three times and read to an adult each night for 5 minutes. They must read out loud so you can hear their errors and they will correct themselves.
If you have any problems with homework please contact me.

Welcome back to Ebbett Park School

What a great start to 2013. Room 7 has a great group of students this year and they are ready to learn and show off their talents! I had a great first week with them and can see them growing into great leaders and role models.

Hopefully you have seen the new school signs. We think they are amazing and can't wait until the last bit is finished.

This term we are working hard on our Cool Schools modules. Room 7 will be working hard on developing positive skills and strategies for dealing with conflict at school and home.

We will also be developing our understanding of the Ebbett Park values. One question I am constantly asking my students is how can they show EXCELLENCE, PRIDE & SPIRIT.
