Cool Homework and Writing

I thought it would be nice to share with parents some cool work. Last week students were asked to create a poster on five environmental issues, tell me want they are about and give a simple solution. I really enjoyed some of the interesting solutions students came up with. I really liked the way Shantalia presented her work. It showed me pride and excellence. Well done Stantalia.

If you get a chance look at the cool writing in our blogsite. Taylor and Keira's writing is amazing.

Our Module of Learning

For our first module of Inquiry Learning we are looking at environmental concerns and how we can make a change.

Room 7 have come up with a title for our learning.

Swimming in Pollution
The earth protects us so we must protect it!

Students are working together to develop a series of questions. They are brainstorming ideas, leading questions and then they will find out the answers. They will also develop new questions for further investigation.

·         Write one paragraph for each person explaining why they are a role model.
·         You can only use the computer to print their image.

Whakatauki Ruma Whitu

Kaua me te waewae tutuki engari ma te upoko pakaru.
(Persevere with determination don't be put off by small obstacles)

This week I want you to design and create a poster for our whakatauki.

  • You are to publish this in your homework book. One page only.
  • No computers allowed - must be by hand.
  • No highlighters are to be used!
  • Your tidiest publishing.
  • Plan and draft before you publish - remember your homework must reflect your best work.
  • Write a sentence (anywhere on your poster) telling me what you think our whakatauki means - give me an example.
This is due with your spelling and reading log.
