Room 7 Matariki Display 2015

Tuesday 2 February 2016

Welcome to Room 7.

Welcome back to Ebbett Park School and a warm welcome to our new students. Everyone has made a positive start and look like they are really to get stuck into their learning. They are a friendly and helpful bunch of kids.

This year we have lots of things happening.

Stationary

Stationary packs have gone home. I would really like to have these sorted by this Friday so we can start setting up classroom expectations, label books and get stuck into our learning. If there are any issues with payment please contact me or Lynda in the office.

Seesaw is the platform we are using for student learning portfolios. This is being used schoolwide. Students brought home a laminated sheet for setting up the Seesaw app. The QR Code is for your child – please don’t fold the sheet as the QR code will not work. This can be set up on a smartphone, ipad, tablet or PC. If you are having any problems please come in and see me.  Once you are set up you will receive a message everytime I put something on Seesaw related to your child. You will also be able to comment on your childs learning.

Swimming

We are swimming most days. It is essential that all students bring their togs. Our pool is not too deep and students can stand up in it. If your child is unable to swim due to illness please inform me.

Camp 2016.

This year all the year 5 & 6 students are going to Guthrie Smith (Tutira) for their camp. This will be held in Term 4 (18th – 20th of October). You would have noticed a camp deposit in the stationary order. This deposit is so we can confirm the booking. They final costing has not yet been confirmed and I will get something out shortly. We will also need parent help and help with transport to and from camp.

I look forward to catching up and meeting any new parents during the year. If you wish to contact me directly please e-mail me.

  3. Hi Jo. Homework will start next week. Ask Joel about Seesaw as it is something you could also use. He has the instruction sheet.
